Istanbul, the second largest supplier of clothing to the EU, launches its biannual international fashion fair this September, showcasing trends for Spring/Summer 2004.
The breadth and depth of the Turkish Clothing Industry will be displayed in the collections at this show: including sectors in menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, lingerie and accessories.
Everyone who's anyone in the Turkish clothing industry will be present, including the Turkish Clothing Manufacturers Association (TGSD) and Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters Association (ITKIB), two of the six heavyweight fashion organisations who club together to organise the event. There were plenty of mingling between the exhibitors (among whom were designers, manufacturers and Turkish brands) and visitors - including major importers, global brands, retailers and department chains. Young blood is often injected into the proceedings, with budding talent from international fashion schools such as London's St Martin's and Belgian and Danish Fashion and Design Schools
